Quality Control

Forks are essential to forklifts for functionality, safety, and capabilities. Serious accidents and equipment downtime can be prevented with proper fork sizing and inspection. EP Fork Test is based on ISO 2330 standard including 3 times load test of the fork arm and duration of fatigue test no less than 106 test load cycles. There are five main inspection processes of EP to assure qualified forks：

A forklift is a powered industrial truck used to lift and move materials over short distances horizontally or vertically. It requires the forks are flat to load the materials stably, which makes this process necessary to do.

Parallelism Inspection

A fork used on a forklift normally needs a pair to achieve the purpose of lifting and moving materials, which means two pieces of forks should exactly at the same level when assembled to the forklift. EP’s forks will always have this inspection.

Hardness Measurement

As the main factor of strength specifications, hardness should be always measured to check if the material is with the right chemical compositions and if the heat treatment is under the right conditions. No exception for forks that hardness will be always measured after the heat treatment process.

Ultrasonic Inspection

Porosity is NOT permitted on welds or inside of lifting devices. Porosities inside of a fork will make it easily broken leading to a horrible accident. EP will proceed with the ultrasonic inspection to check if there is porosity after the welding process.

Many forklift operators are seriously injured every year. Some of these cases are caused by the unqualified forks. Loading rate is one of the most important factors to consider when a customer buys a fork. EP samples the 3-time loading rate test every month picking up 1-3pcs from each lot.
