EP Equipment wins the iF Design Award 2019

The iF Product design award was introduced first in 1954 and has been a growing institution for good design ever since. Several market leading manufacturers like Jungheinrich, Toyota and many others have participated in this prestigious competition.

EP sends its newest product into the race

In 2019 EP Equipment entered the competition with a groundbreaking new product, the WPL201 Li-Ion pallet truck. The WPL 201 does not only appear in a unique, appealing design, it also combines design with innovative features that solve several problems of traditional electric pallet trucks.

Great new features

Based on 48V brushless DC technology, this truck comes with increased gradeability and power, plug&play Li-Ion battery and a world unique plug&play controller. To ensure low TCO and simple service, the controller of the WPL201 can be exchanged single-handed to reduce service time for the customer. With its 48V/ 36Ah plug&play Li-Ion Battery, the truck can run through a full shift without charging and work around the clock with opportunity charging. The WPL 201 also comes with a completely new plug&play tiller head, designed by EP Equipment for the highest requirements in ergonomics and serviceability.

Shortest 2to pallet truck in the world

In addition to these great features, the WPL 201 Lithium Ion pallet truck is also the shortest in the world. At a size of only 423mm, it is much shorter than any of its competitors and better for use in narrow aisles as well as for loading and unloading of HGVs.

Winning the iF Design Award 2019

To win the iF Design Award is a big honour for EP Equipment and we are proud about our development and design team who constantly strive to create innovative products while keeping our an eye for nice design. With the WPL201 EP proves once again, that Chinese manufacturing can play a leading role in innovation and design for a whole industry.

LogiMAT 2019 – review of a great trade show

From Feb. 19 to 21. the international trade show LogiMAT 2019 took place in Stuttgart. With 61.740 visitors, the trade show grew by more than 10% compared to last year and became even more international than the years before. EP Equipment showed several new, groundbreaking products to the industry.

EP Equipment – our LogiMAT 2019 review

Located in Hall 10 next to TVH, EP Equipment had a great tradeshow with many friends and partners visiting from around the world. Customers and dealers from New Zealand, Italy, France, UK, Portugal, Argentina, Germany, Poland and many other countries visited EP to find out more about the latest innovations developed by our engineering team. On this year’s booth, EP fully focused on Li-Ion technology showcasing several new Li-Ion pallet trucks, Counterbalance trucks as well as work assist vehicles.

This year’s tradeshow EP organised together with the regional partner Isfort. Both sides are very happy with the results of the tradeshow. Julian Büter, GM of Isfort: « Isfort participated in the LogiMAT tradeshow for the first time. We are very satisfied with the results of the show, selling more than 100 machines directly during the tradeshow and several hundred quotations as well as new leads from existing and new partners. Especially the Li-Ion counterbalance trucks caught the attention of our partners from all over Germany. We are looking forward to changing the market of counterbalance trucks together with EP »

What’s new at LogiMAT 2019?

During LogiMAT 2019 EP Equipment presented several new and unique products to the industry from three categories:

  • New Li-Ion Counterbalance truck
  • Innovative Li-Ion pallet trucks
  • Order picking solutions

In all these categories, EP is using Li-Ion technology to change the truck’s concept from the ground up. In an Interview with Logisticsinside.eu our Director Sales & Marketing Bennit Schmieder gives an insight into the new features and functions of the machines on the show:

From the feedback of the show, we can tell, that Li-Ion optimised trucks solve the problems many customers face with their current equipment. Especially in the case of IC trucks, customers wish to change to electric, but with the current trucks on sale, many cannot change: Not enough power, long charging hours and in case of Li-Ion trucks too high prices. With the L1 from EP, we solve all these problems at once. In the next months, we are pleased to see more and more Li-Ion forklift trucks from EP going into the market all over Europe. If you want to learn more about the advantages of Li-Ion and you want to have a demo truck on sight, contact your local EP representative!

LogiMAT 2019 is over, what comes next?

LogiMAT 2019 was a huge success for EP and we will come back stronger and with new products in 2020. To give a sneak preview, we are confident to be able showcasing our high performance 3-wheel Li-Ion counterbalance truck next year at LogiMAT 2020. We are looking forward to come back to Stuttgart and want to invite our international partners to visit us again next year.
