At EP Equipment we believe in a strong network of partners to develop new products, create exceptional after sales support and share opportunities among partners. In 2011 EP Equipment founded their European distribution centre in Belgium to support the local dealer structure with technical training, spare parts supply and trucks on stock to improve the overall customer service throughout Europe.

In the past years, EP has created growth of over 40% year by year and a record year 2017 with over 10.000 trucks sold in Europe alone. As our prediction for 2018 is even stronger, the need for a bigger footprint in Europe in terms of spare parts, support staff and truck stock was growing.

 

Spare parts

Since February 2018, EP has moved into new facilities near the city of Brussels, Belgium. At over 1.000m², we increased our stock inventory significantly. For most relevant parts we can supply our dealers all over Europe within 24hours and technical support in French, English, Dutch and German.

Training

At EP we believe that we can only grow together and to learn from each other plays a key part in this strategy. Especially with the introduction of more and more Lithium Ion products and order picking equipment we see the need for more training. Now we established a central training facility for 24 participants in our new distribution centre where we will offer after sales and sales training for all our European dealers free of charge to continuously improve our quality of service together with our partners.

Open Dealer day

As we want to give our dealers and partners the opportunity to try our products, we will start bi-weekly open dealer day at our facilities in Belgium. The goal is to give our partners inside information on the development of EP Equipment, new products and the service back up from EP Distribution centre. In a visit of 3-4 hours, our partners can learn more about our products, the EP After sales System EP CARE as well as the advantages of our products.

Evron Foods is an independent autonomous modern bakery company specialising in high volume production of quality frozen and chilled bakery products for leading retailers, foodservice and manufacturing customers.

With over 33 years of unique knowledge and experience they are recognised as one of the leading manufacturers in these sectors.

They have 2 purpose built bakeries in Craigavon, N.Ireland and Pontypool, S.Wales with modern production lines which produce large volumes of unbaked, part-baked and added value breads which are quick frozen or chilled and packed for maximum freshness and convenience.

There is on-site frozen and chilled storage in both locations for onward distribution to UK customers and to countries throughout Europe, USA and the Middle East.

They operate comprehensive Food Safety and Quality Management systems and both bakeries are approved to BRC standard.

A five year contract for the rental of their forklifts ended in mid 2017 and we were asked to carry out a comprehensive review of the equipment with a view to tendering for the rental of the equipment for a further five years. As we were the incumbent supplier we had established an understanding of the application and usage of each truck. Evron Foods business had changed over the preceding 5 years which had resulted in the total usage of the outgoing trucks being significantly different.

It was determined that a number of the trucks were to be utilised at a rate of 2000 hours/annum and others at a rate of 1200 hours/annum with the higher usage truck being deployed in dispatch and the lower usage trucks being deployed in various other areas of the facility.

EP offer a number of different models of 4 wheel electric trucks (including the 5 & 8 Series trucks). The choice of models (varying level of specification) means the customer has the choice of a cost effective solution that is tailered to his particular application and circumstance. With EP, the customer is not limited to a « one truck fits all » offering and can benefit greatly from the reduction in the price for a truck with a reduced specification level that does the job perfectly well in a particular application.

With Evron Foods we were able to offer the 5 series model for the lighter duty application and the 8 series model for the heavier duty application and do so at a 30% saving on the cost of the 5 series against the 8 series! Nearly a year on and the trucks are working well and the management at Evron Foods haven’t noticed any difference in the trucks apart from the price!

In early May, EP Equipment signed a three-year contract with a leading chinese e-commerce company on the supply of material handling equipment such as EPT 20-20 RAS in the value of 11.5 Million USD.

With the EPT 20-20 RAS EP Equipment supplies a state of the art ride-on pallet truck optimised of the needs of the logistics industry. Due to its heavy duty components, robust steel chassis and easy to service controller, the RAS series is the perfect choice for the enormous e-commerce industry in china when it comes to  loading and unloading operations. Depending on the individual requirements of the customer, EP Equipment offers a different set up to the customer including a wide range of options such as high speed and electric power steering.

Over the past years we have created new, category defining products, like the EPT 20-15ET, the worlds first real entry level powered pallet truck, the EPT 12EZ, the first compact Li-Ion pallet truck at the size of a manual hand pallet truck and the  JX1, a unique order picker designed to serve in the growing E-Commerce environment.

At CeMAT 2018 EP Equipment will push the limits even further by presenting LiST – Lithium integrated Smart Trucks – a whole new line up of trucks with groundbreaking features. We present the future of trucks already today!

Next generation Counterbalance truck:

While others just replace lead acid batteries with Li-Ion in their traditional chassis, EP Equipment went back to the drawing board and created a completely new counterbalance truck. We re-engineered the chassis and designed a whole new battery compartment to make full use of the compact size and light weight Lithium-Ion technology.

The result is stunning: EP Equipment managed to increase the legroom of a 1.5to electric counterbalance truck by 35% while increasing the performance level of the truck, improving visibility and ergonomics at the same time. The new EP Equipment counterbalance truck will feature a dual joystick control system, USB charger, great visibility and the largest legroom in the industry. Performance wise the truck is looking forward to meeting its competition out in the field!

The next step in distribution logistics

Especially in Europe, the EPT 20-15EHJ is  probably the most successful pallet truck when it comes to urban distribution logistics in 2017. With thousands of new customers working with this semi-electric truck on the taillift and in city centers we decided to bring out the next generation of this robust workhorse. With the EPT 16-EH we bring Lithium-Ion to the semi electric pallet truck. The EPT 16-EH will be equipped with the EP Equipment Lithium-Ion Battery, already established by the EPT 12EZ. Now the our semi electric is even more flexible, can be charged in the truck cabin, at home or in the warehouse. And in case of heavy duty application, it can run non-stop with a replacement battery.

Next generation powered pallet truck

Together with its Key Account customers around the world EP Equipment created one of the largest portfolios in powered pallet trucks with solutions for every challenge. Over the years some key points have always been on our mind when designing a new product: Compact size, robust chassis, low and simple maintenance. With the EPT 20WL EP Equipment presents the world most compact 2.0 to pallet truck at a length of only 423mm the EPT 20WL is equipped with a brushless permanent magnet motor and a easy-exchange Li-Ion battery. With its weight of only 220Kg and the compact size it is

the perfect truck for the distribution industry. But what about service? The EPT 20WL is build around the concept of simple service. While EP already introduced the easy-exchange system for the Battery in 2016, the EPT 20WL will use the easy-exchange system for all electronic components. So in the unlikely event of downtime, the customer can exchange the electronic components by themselves. Service has never been faster!

Now on sale – the all new JX0

With the JX1 EP Equipment is solving order picking challenges around the world already. With the all new JX0 work assist vehicle, EP Equipment developed a light duty truck with a lifting height of 3000mm that suits the need of DIY markets, retail environment or occasional maintenance work. Due to smaller packaging sizes for the E-Commerce, the demand for efficient and flexible solutions in a small parts-warehouse increases. Traditional pallet trucks and narrow-isle stackers often do not fit the needs. For this application, the JX1 vertical order picker made by EP Equipment, offers the ability to pick products from a height of up to 6.5 meters, with a functional working platform, intuitive handling and a better productivity. With the JX1, EP Equipment reveals a unique machine at the LogiMat 2018, solving the challenges of the industry.

The retail environment develops more and more to a shopping experience, in which the consumer finds the newest products in a stimulating atmosphere. Traditional pallet trucks do not fit in this application due to their size and because of their industrial look. Furthermore, the need for ergonomic working tools increases, especially when transporting heavy loads. The EPT 12EZ from EP Equipment offers the solution. With its compact size (like a manual hand pallet truck), the light weight (only 130 kg), the modern design and the easy handling, the EPT 12EZ Li-Ion electric pallet truck is convincing customers worldwide. Another focus in this trend of compact pallet trucks is in distribution logistics. The growing urban logistics and last mile delivery challenges increase the demand for flexible and ergonomic solutions. This is the terrain of the EPT 20ET pallet truck made by EP Equipment, which is also shown on the LogiMat.
